SEGA of America Inc. announced that Sonic The Hedgehog has shipped in North America for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system.
Sonic The Hedgehog for the Xbox 360 will release on 30th November 2006.

Sega Genesis Collection ships for PSP; includes sonic
Sega announced today it had shipped the Sega Genesis Collection for the PlayStation Portable(PSP). This $29.95 retro collection of Genesis hits reborn on Sony's handheld video game platform is developed by Backbone Entertainment and includes classic hits such as Altered Beast, Sonic The Hedgehog, Shinobi III, Phantasy Star and the original Sega Genesis version of Golden Axe.
The games in the collection have been reproduced with the utmost detail and accuracy. Sega Genesis Collection for the PSP system also marks the handheld debut of many of the titles and numerous titles in the collection will also be playable via wireless Ad Hoc modes, adding to an unrivalled portable gaming experience.
Sega Genesis Collection features unlockable items that delve into the soul of the Seg Genesis, including interviews with the developers that created the original titles, a museum area with interesting facts about the games, a hint area to help players complete their favorite Sega Genesis games, and Sega arcade titles from the Genesis era to unlock.

Sonic the Hedgehog no longer a PS3 launchgame
IGN reports that Sonic the Hedgehog is no longer a PS3 launchgame. Apparently the game is now set for a release during the holiday season. SEGA says that they need a bit more time to incorporate downloadable content. The upside is that there will be downloadable content available at the game’s release in December.
An exact date hasn’t been given but we’ll definitely see it before 2007, possibly in early December.

You can now submit your favorite Sonic site(s) into the Phase One Submissions round of Sonic Site Awards 2006. You decide who goes through to Phase Two (the voting stage), so whatever site gets the most number of submissions will be included.
The time frame for the Site Awards has been shortened to allow it to end before the New Year. The Phase One Submission stage will only lasts for two weeks. The last date they will accept Submissions will be 17th November 2006. After that they tally up and move onto Phase Two!
Anyone can nominate a site at the SSA official site, so feel free to nominate any site you think deserves an award.
